So, I’m 40 years old and had been teetering with the idea of having another baby ever since my daughter was born two years ago. I got a late start and only married at age 36, where my husband and I immediately started to try for our family. After a year of trying to get pregnant, and now 37, we went the fertility route and immediately started Clomid. I wanted to try the least invasive method first, and move on from there, but to our pleasant surprise, I got pregnant our first month and our daughter was born in March 2008, perfectly healthy and our families were so happy!
I’m an only child, myself, and always grew up wanting about three kids. When I got such a late start, I had still hoped for two, but when even one was difficult to conceive, I wasn’t going to be greedy. Two years later, and the organizer of a fabulous mommy group, Spring Moms and Babes, I think about having another child all the time, especially when around our pregnant moms. I try to talk myself out of it all the time, because of my age, and because our family is already strained.
…. to be continued…
I plan to blog about my pregnancy to chronicle my experiences and share with other moms in my situation.
